312
Description: 312 is designed for welding stainless steels to mild steels as well as high strength steels. 312 gives a two-phase weld deposit with substantial percentages of ferrite in an austenite matrix.
Application: 312 is used to weld cast alloys of similar composition and is used to weld dissimilar metals such as carbon steel to stainless steel, particularly those grades high in nickel and weld overlays. When welding similar cast alloys, limit welding to two or three layers only.
Specifications: Conforms to AWS A5.9 Classification: ER312
